Our “Real Nepal” – Tour is suitable for travellers of all ages who can’t wait to get to know Nepal. A certain fitness level is not required. The only hike in our itinerary is just 3 hours long and takes you through nature, up to the hill of Sarangkot. Though you will see a lot during those 12 days, there is plenty of free time in the afternoons for your own personal interests.
Apart from our proposed programs, we also listen to your personal requests and cater to your preferences, off the beaten track. On just a simple request from you, we can offer you tailor made trips hand-made according to your desires. Check our FAQ.
Nonetheless, activities can be reprogrammed according to the constraints encountered on site (weather, travel time). All activities will, however, be maintained or alternatives will be proposed.
Currently, our “The Real Nepal” Tour will be organised at any given time according to your wishes. Simply choose your preferred options and contact us. Please bare in mind that during monsoon (summer) it might be difficult to travel around. Each tour group will have a maximum of 8 travellers. By offering only small groups, we can guarantee that we will meet all your expectations to your satisfaction.

Travelling with your own group
If you wish to join our tour with an own group (e.g. with your partner, friends or family), we are more than happy to be guiding just you and your group. However, the cost per person in a smaller group will be a little higher than the usual rate.

"The Real Nepal" - Travel Tour Program
Day 1 - Welcome to Nepal
You made it! Your first steps in Nepal will be on the runway of Kathmandu International Airport. But don’t worry, as soon as you leave the chaotic airport, we will welcome you right there according to your flight schedule.
You will be picked up and transferred by a private vehicle to the royal city of Patan, located in the south-central part of Kathmandu Valley. Just separated from Kathmandu by the legendary Bagmati River, Patan (or Lalitpur), the city with a thousand golden roofs, is the perfect starting point for your journey.
Ancient temples, small squares, narrow alleys and tiny shops are here for you to be discovered. Your very first glimpse of the Nepalese culture in a nutshell. Though we will be around if needed, your first day in Nepal starts with free time to settle in and maybe already get acquainted with the old town. Enjoy the relaxing setting of those traditional Newari houses, just steps from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu.

Day 2 - Meeting Buddha, Shiva and the "Monkey Temple"
Hopefully, you have slept well during your very first night in Nepal. Day 2 will take you on a Kathmandu tour, heading to three major sites of the city.
After breakfast, you will discover the iconic Boudhanath Stupa, dominating the skyline of the east of Kathmandu. Pilgrims from all Asia come here. You have the golden opportunity to join walking the “Kora” around the stupa with them.
A stone’s throw away from Boudhanath lies the Hindu site of Pashupatinath, the most important temple dedicated to Shiva in Nepal. The contrast in culture and customs is amazing! Live a unique experience in the midst of venerable statues, temples, and cremation ceremonies by the river.
Finally, you will go up to the golden dome of Swayambhunath, also called “Monkey Temple” due to its little animal inhabitants. Located on top of a hill, the stupa watches over the thee royal cities of Kathmandu Valley. Your day ends with a beautiful panorama over the valley. If you are lucky and the sky is clear, you will see the Himalayas as well.

Day 3 - A small haven of peace
It’s finally time to get out of the city! Turning our backs on the buzzing hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, we will enter one of the most beautiful travel destinations in Nepal – for tourists and locals alike.
This morning, you will take the road towards Bandipur. Most of your ride will be on a highway within the low mountain range of Nepal.
Bandipur welcomes you with peace and beauty. A picturesque 18th century village beautifully preserved. We particularly appreciate its traditional Newari architecture, beautiful landscapes and especially the hospitality of its inhabitants. Take the opportunity to stroll through the village before heading to Thani Mai, a view point to enjoy an incredible sunset over the valley – with the breathtaking Annapurna range in the background!

Day 4 - Homestay Experience: Living with Tibetans
Ready to immerse in the life of people living in Nepal? This morning you will head to Pokhara Valley. At Tashiling, one of the 12 official Tibetan settlement camps in Nepal, a Tibetan family welcomes you at their homestay. Experience an authentic and serene culture. All in a relaxed and familiar atmosphere. Discover the history of these unique people who settled here after 1959.
In the afternoon, take the opportunity to explore Pokhara City at your own pace. Stroll through the shopping streets to the edge of the infamous Lake Phewa. Be amazed by the monumental Himalayan range in the background and its beautiful reflection on the water – a real splendor!
Back to the camp, you have the golden opportunity to prepare a traditional meal with locals. If your are interested, you are free to join an introduction to the Tibetan cuisine by preparing the traditional dumplings (“Momos”).

Travel Time (Bandipur-Pokhara): around 2.5 hours (~75km)

Stay overnight at a Tibetan family’s homestay. An unique experience, far from the city and its hustle and bustle. Shared bathroom with the small host family.
Day 5 - Relaxation at Paradise Pokhara
Lakeside Pokhara is the best spot to relax your soul. The beautiful scenery combined with comfort and luxury will definitely ease your mind.
Your feel-good day starts after your breakfast at Tibetan Camp in Tashiling. Your driver will then take you to the gorgeous World Peace Pagoda in Pokhara. Located at an altitude of about 1,000 meters, the imposing pagoda awaits you at the top of a hill with a spectacular sight on the range of Annapurna, the Lake Phewa and down on the city of Pokhara!
Following an untroublesome trail, you will start a small hike down to Phewa Lake. Your reward comes in the form of a traditional wooden boat. Taking a seat in one of those colourful boats, you will wander on the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We return to Lakeside Pokhara where you can freely continue your relaxation. You can use the afternoon to relax with an 1 hour traditional massage or by just lying on a canvas chair at one of the great restaurant-bars at the lake.

Day 6 - Hiking to Sarangkot for a Himalayan Panorama
Come close to the mountains! Get ready! It is time for your hike in Nepal.
After having strengthened at breakfast, you will leave for a short hike onto the heights of Sarangkot at around 1,600 meters. Your adventure takes you through the forest to discover the local ecosystem. Sarangkot Hill is the closest to the Himalayas of Pokhara. It is said that from there the white mountains seem so high and so close that one could almost touch them. Take a moment to enjoy the panorama and recharge your mind, body and spirit.
In recent years, Sarangkot has become a hotspot for paragliding. For those who dare to jump into the sky, there is the option to try paragliding.
The afternoon is free to enjoy Pokhara one last time before our departure. Wander through the city, do some last shopping at the lakeside boutiques and enjoy the natural beauty of Pokhara from a café.

Day 7 - From the mountains to the plains of Terai
Welcome to the jungle! Welcome to the South of Nepal! In just a glimpse of an eye, you will completely change the cultural and natural environment. Discover the diversity of Nepal!
After breakfast in Pokhara, we will take you to the Terai region to discover another side of Nepal. A total change of landscapes! From the highest mountains to the tropical jungle. You are now entering the land of the Tharu, an ethnic group indigenous to the South.
At the gateway to Chiwan National Park, you will check in to a beautiful eco-lodge. Use your free afternoon to recover from the long travel and to acclimate. Enjoy a quiet moment to relax or get to know the elephants of the park.

Nestled in a lush alluvial forest on the banks of the Great Rapti River, Tigerland Safari Resort offers simply furnished rooms, a garden where guests can relax and free Wi-Fi.
Day 8 - Into the wild
Take your binoculars! We are going on a safari adventure!
Your day breaks among the local flora and fauna of Chitwan National Park! Open your eyes on 932km² of wild jungle to spot one-horned rhinoceros, marsh crocodiles, gaurs, antelopes, lizards, Bengal tigers and leopards. Spot wild animals wandering in the surroundings and the several hundred different and varied birds flying in the jungle!
You will be on a great adventurous program today. You join a morning getaway through the jungle, while the elephants of the site might accompany you nearby. Later that day you will go on a Jeep-safari in the National Park, and canoe through the marshes!

Day 9 - Heading back to the frenzy of Kathmandu
This morning you will take the road towards the capital again. Kathmandu and its buzzing life is waiting for you. But before you arrive to frenzy, another long car ride through Nepal’s landscape lies ahead of you.
Along the way back to Kathmandu Valley, rice fields as far as the eye can see give way to the mountainous regions. Enyjoy the natural beauty that you are you passing alongside and feel how we climb the hill region.
Arriving in Kathmandu, we will first take you to your hotel to check-in. You will have a free afternoon to relax or to explore Kathmandu. We are here for you if you need advice or recommendations on what to visit.

Day 10 - Meeting Hindu artisans & Buddhist monks
This morning, you we will take the road eastwards to the small town Bhadgoan, also known of as “Hindu Bhaktapur”. It was once the rice granary of the valley. But today, it is a place of great religious devotion. Explore this ancient site and feel the past. Visit the five-roof temple of Newari Nyatapola, wander through the streets of the city to meet local artisans.

In the afternoon, you will join Namobuddha for a unique experience on one of the three largest Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal. The village of Namobuddha is a magical place of captivating calm and peace. Time stands still here and you will become part of it. Experience the life of Buddhist monks. Take your time to wander. Explore the countryside and the surrounding monasteries. Participate in the evening prayers with the monks in the majestic prayer hall of the monastery.

Day 11 - A morning among Buddhist monks
This morning you will enjoy an once in a lifetime experience. Waking up at the monastery of Namobuddha, you will accompany Buddhist monks in their morning rituals. Rise and shine early with the monks to observe the unique morning prayer sessions at the monastery.
After having breakfast with the monks in the monastery, you will head back to Kathmandu one last time.
Your afternoon is unsceduled, giving you free time to do final shopping of souvenirs and gifts, on your last day. If you prefer to visit some other places in the surroundings of Kathmandu, we are happy to assist you.

Day 12 - Oh no, it's over already!
Even all the good things come to an end. The last day of your amazing journey has arrived. You will feel that time has passed so quickly. But in retrospect you will feel overwhelmed by the tons of memories that you have created. We have seen so much together! It was a blast!
Your final day in Nepal will be unscheduled as well. You will enjoy your last Nepali breakfast at the hotel. The remaining free time before your departure can be used according to your wishes. We are here for you if you need us.
Depending on your flight schedule, a driver will take you back to Kathmandu Airport. Good-bye Nepal!
